Scientists repainted cows as zebras and got an unexpected effect (4 photos)
Sometimes researchers come up with very strange but effective ideas that prove that in science, imagination is no less important than intelligence. Scientists have put zebra-like stripes on cows. And they got an effect they didn’t expect.
It turned out that striped cows suffer less from insect attacks. Several black animals were taken for testing. White stripes were generously applied to one.
On the other - black.
The third was left unpainted.
And it was the first cow that was least attacked by insects. Painting cows with non-toxic paint is cheaper and healthier than using pesticides to control pests.
