Great Wall Motor (GWM) unveiled a concept version of its upcoming supercar at the Beijing Auto Show, showcasing some of its key components. It will be a mid-engine hybrid model, which could enter production next year.
The new model will feature a carbon fiber monocoque and a transaxle transmission. Great Wall also notes the use of a carbon fiber drive shaft.
The powertrain will be based on a 4.0-liter V8 engine producing over 650 hp. A dry-sump lubrication system is also included. No information about the electrical components is yet available.
The company calls the new model "China's first sports car in the truest sense of the word." The production version is expected to debut at the 2027 Shanghai Auto Show.
