G-Class with a 6.2-liter engine valued at $240,000 (48 photos)
Expedition Motor Company (EMC), a US-based tuning house, has already attracted attention for building high-end SUVs based on the military G-Class. However, while the company's restomods previously featured modified 2.5- and 3.0-liter diesel engines found in G-Classes, this time the builders opted for a larger engine.
The company's latest project has been dubbed "Camo Wolf," which combines the donor's military affiliation with the camouflage paint job. Power comes from a GM 6.2-liter LS3 gasoline V8. The engine produces 430 horsepower and is paired with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The Camo Wolf's upgrades weren't limited to the engine alone. The project begins with a complete restoration of the original car's chassis, complemented by a Bilstein suspension lift and larger wheels. The SUV is equipped with reinforced bumpers, fender flares, a modern audio system, air conditioning, new instruments, and heated seats. The interior is finished in a combination of genuine leather and oak inlays.
The base price of the Camo Wolf is $185,000, which is already higher than the price of a brand new V8 GeLuxe in US showrooms, which starts at $154,000. However, this price doesn't include the 6.2-liter engine—it's valued at an additional $55,000, bringing the price to $240,000.
