A Madrid pigeon decided to correct the mayor's speech (1 photo + 1 video)
Sometimes nature itself decides to make its own adjustments to official events, turning a pompous speech into a global curiosity. 
Recently, Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez Almeida was the victim of a surprise air strike during the unveiling of a monument to Spanish journalists. While the mayor was passionately discussing the value of press freedom and the memory of the fallen reporters, a passing pigeon expressed its feelings about the situation in the most graphic way possible.
A feathered critic took a dump on the mayor's head just as the official ceremony reached its climax. Video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, where users competed in wit, calling it "the most honest review of political speeches." Despite the embarrassment, the mayor tried to maintain his composure, though the solemnity of the moment was irrevocably lost amid the laughter of those present and the clicking of camera shutters.
As for the hero of the occasion himself, the feathered attacker demonstrated remarkable aptitude for secrecy. Immediately after committing his act of "civil disobedience," the pigeon disappeared into the sky and literally vanished into the crowd of its fellow pigeons in the square.
