A major fire broke out on March 8 in a historic building on Union Street in Glasgow, Scotland, located next to the city's main railway station.
The Category B-listed building collapsed several hours later. Known as "Union Corner," the building, built in 1851, predates the station's opening in 1879.
Smoke from the fire was initially seen coming from a building near the entrance to Glasgow Central station. Eyewitnesses described the situation on social media as "catastrophic." The Voco Grand Central Hotel, located at the station, was evacuated, and all passengers were accommodated in other hotels in the city.
