Boston Dynamics announced the release of the final version of its Atlas humanoid robot. After 13 years of development and numerous prototypes, the project has moved from the research stage to commercialization – Atlas is now designed for real-world production tasks. Its first customers include Hyundai and Google DeepMind. The new Atlas is designed with an emphasis on reliability and stability: it can lift loads up to 50 kg, has a manipulator radius of 2.3 meters, and operates at temperatures ranging from -20 to +40°C. The robot can be controlled in three ways: fully autonomously, by a teleoperator, or via a tablet interface.
