In the mountains of Mongolia, scientists made a rare discovery – five snow leopard cubs in two different shelters.







While their mothers were hunting, the researchers carefully and quickly examined the cubs: The babies were sexed, DNA samples were taken, and microtags were placed so that their fate could be tracked in the future.

The procedure took only a few minutes and was stress-free for the cubs. Then, specialists monitored from a distance to ensure that their mothers had returned and that everything was alright.

This attention is a crucial part of the snow leopard conservation program in the wild. It's another small step toward preserving this rare species.
