A Chinese company has unveiled a six-armed robot. It will assemble household appliances and other equipment. The robot is designed to improve work efficiency in manufacturing.

While other companies are teaching humanoid robots to walk on two legs and use both hands, China's Midea has taken a different path. At an event in Guangzhou, the company unveiled Miro U—the world's first six-armed, wheeled humanoid robot.

Six bionic manipulators with high-precision control and quickly interchangeable modules at the ends. It can weld, assemble, or perform a third task. And all at once, using different hands. Plus, it can lift vertically and rotate 360 degrees on the spot.

Miro U is the third generation in Midea's line of industrial robots. The previous version has been in operation at the company's Jingzhou plant since August of this year, working side by side with humans and other robots. The newcomer will join the team and, according to engineers' calculations, will increase the production line's efficiency by 30%.

Miro U's first location will be a premium washing machine factory in Wuxi, with rollout planned by the end of 2025. All technological components were developed by Midea itself, without third-party solutions.
