Corruption during the construction of The Line is reportedly threatening to derail the project. There are cost overruns, fraud, and personnel scandals. All of this has impacted the project; instead of the promised 170 kilometers of skyscraper-like wall for 9 million residents, they plan to build only 2.4–5 kilometers by 2030. And yes, the $1 trillion price tag was previously mentioned, but now the price tag has risen to $8.8 trillion.
