Saudi Arabia has unveiled a design for a stadium on the roof of a 350-meter skyscraper. The structure will be powered by solar and wind energy, and the stands will be able to accommodate 46,000 people. 
Saudi Arabia plans to build a football stadium on a skyscraper. The arena, 350 meters high, will be part of the yet-to-be-built skyscraper city, The Line.
According to the design, NEOM Sky Stadium will be able to accommodate up to 46,000 people and will be powered entirely by renewable energy. They plan to complete the project by 2032—and even promise to host matches of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
However, neither football fans nor architects have much faith in the project. Among the main questions are how tens of thousands of people will ascend and descend simultaneously, as well as the lack of a timeline for the completion of The Line itself.
A mirrored skyscraper city, Mirror Line, is planned for the Saudi Arabian desert. It will consist of two buildings, each approximately 490 meters tall, running parallel to each other along the coast, desert, and mountains.
The city will be able to accommodate approximately five million people. A stadium is planned at an altitude of over 300 meters, a marina will be built on the shore, and a high-speed train will operate on the lower level. The Mirror Line is planned to be eco-friendly – without gasoline-powered cars and with infrastructure powered by renewable energy sources.
The city will be located on a stretch of approximately 120-170 km. Saudi Arabian authorities initially planned to complete the project by 2030, but engineers estimate that construction will take up to 50 years and cost a trillion dollars.
