The Japanese have unveiled a prototype of a "human washing machine." The device was unveiled by an Osaka-based company known for its technologically advanced bathroom solutions.

Japanese hotels may soon feature a completely futuristic option—a device called the "Washing Machine for the Human of the Future." This invention, developed by the Osaka-based company Science, is officially called the Mirai Ningen Sentakki and will later be known as the Human Washer. The device is a capsule into which a person enters and lies in a semi-reclining position. After this, the dome closes, and the "washing" process begins.

Relaxing images, such as seascapes or sunsets, appear on the screen, soothing music plays, and the capsule itself fills with warm, soapy water, transforming it into a bathtub. After a leisurely bath, the water drains, and special nozzles rinse the body with clean water, washing away any remaining foam. The entire process occurs without the slightest effort on the part of the user.

Science built a working prototype for the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, where guests were able to try out the new device firsthand. 77.6% of testers were "very satisfied," and another 21.1% were "satisfied." Development of the device began in 2022.

The company has received numerous positive reviews from the hotel industry. Science initially had no plans to mass-produce the "Washing Machine," but has now received orders for six units. They will be installed in hotels and entertainment venues in Japan—likely spas, bathhouses, or fitness clubs.

After Expo 2025 closes, the demonstration model will be moved to the science exhibition hall in the Shin Osaka Central Tower, where it will also be available for testing. However, there is no talk yet of private sales. The device costs about the same as an imported luxury car, and installing it in ordinary homes would require complex remodeling and significant investment.

The specific hotels that have placed orders have not yet been named, but one is known to be located in Osaka.
