Yamaha, known primarily for its motorcycles, is preparing an unusual concept for the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. It's a two-seater roadster with a single rear wheel drive, called the Tricera. The most unusual aspect of the prototype's design is the ability to steer all three wheels.

The current Yamaha Tricera is a heavily redesigned version of the concept of the same name, unveiled by the company in 2023. Judging by the photos, the prototype has been reimagined to make it more suitable for road use: while the first Tricera looked downright futuristic, the current one much more closely resembles the production model. However, the company has not confirmed plans for mass production of these trikes.

The Tricera now has a more traditional front end, although it retains its almost completely open wheels. The exterior trim has been redesigned, and the interior now features full-size seats instead of the previous minimalist bolsters. Side mirrors and protective bars behind the seats have been installed, replacing the headrests previously used. Finally, the Tricera now features larger glass elements in front of the seats and a traditional steering wheel.

The company remains tight-lipped about the technical details of the Tricera, only that it is electric.
