The main themes of the relaunched Tokyo Japan Mobility Show were urban mobility and a variety of crossovers. However, among the scattering of concepts there were several frankly sporty ones. Moreover, some of them turned out to be not just “reflections on the topic,” but direct or indirect hints about the near future.

Subaru Sport Mobility

The Subaru brand has come up with an electric sports car called Sport Mobility. Almost nothing is known about it, not even the interior was shown. Nevertheless, the concept can be considered a hint of future changes in the corporate style. Judging by the concept, the new Subaru will become more restrained, but at the same time “muscular” and brutal.

Mazda Iconic SP

Mazda continued to intrigue fans of rotary lighters by introducing the Iconic SP coupe. Rumors about a possible revival of the RX line have been circulating for years, and the concept once again adds fuel to the fire. Mazda Iconic SP is equipped with a 1.6-liter Wankel engine, which does not have a direct connection to the wheels. As on the MX-30 crossover, the unit serves only to replenish the battery's energy reserves, and the coupe is driven by electric traction. But for a relatively modest mass of 1450 kg, there are quite conveyor-level 370 hp. With. In the case of Mazda, there were no monstrous numbers typical for concepts - this niche went to Nissan.

Nissan Hyper Force

Hyper Force is a fantasy of what a GT-R might look like in a world of triumphant electric power. Despite the frankly fantastic appearance with many linings and flaps, the silhouette of the current GT-R is easily discernible in the appearance of the Hyper Force. In addition, the concept has signature round optics on the back and a square logo on the front. As icing on the cake, the supercar's driving modes are named Touring and Track, which are labeled GT and R, respectively.

Hyper Force electric motors develop more than 1,300 hp. s., and solid-state batteries provide a 1000-kilometer power reserve. Displays in the cabin can change their position and display information depending on the selected driving mode. In addition, the concept comes with a virtual reality helmet—you can drive along computer tracks without leaving the steering wheel. In general, Nissan designers allowed themselves to get carried away by the topic. However, the company stated that some of the technologies used on Hyper Force have already been patented. Accordingly, their appearance on production vehicles is almost inevitable.

Honda Prelude

Oddly enough, the most clear statement was made by Honda, which unexpectedly showed the revived Prelude. Before the exhibition, the company practically did not announce this development, so the appearance of the coupe came as a surprise. Another surprise is the appearance of the Prelude, since the two-door looks almost ready for the assembly line (although, as in the case of Subaru, the interior was not shown). The head of the company, Toshihiro Mibe, excited fans of classic Hondas with the statement that the Prelude will return in one capacity or another in the coming years, and the concept is direct proof of this. About the Prelude itself, in addition to the exterior, all that is known is that it is equipped with a hybrid power plant.

Thus, Japanese manufacturers do not yet plan to completely abandon the production of overtly sporty models, although the total electrification of fast and powerful cars, apparently, cannot be avoided.
