Demand for multi-million-dollar hypercars has never been stronger, and next month one of the most respected names in automotive design will join this exclusive circle. Together with Capricorn, the engineering firm behind the Apollo IE carbon monocoque, Zagato is preparing to launch its first hypercar of its own. It will be hand-built and limited to just 19 examples.
First Design Glimpses
The as-yet-unnamed model will be unveiled at the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium next month. For now, its shape remains hidden in shadow, but after illuminating the image in Photoshop, some design details become visible.
The first thing that catches the eye is the gull-wing doors - perhaps the most exotic option a car enthusiast can imagine. Zagato has also designed the rear-view mirrors, which protrude far from the front wings. Up front, you can see a large air intake on the hood, a relatively restrained front bumper and square-shaped headlights. Overall, the new hypercar has a rather sophisticated and retro-oriented design, which contrasts nicely with today's aerodynamically intensive models.
Interior and technical features
The interior remains a mystery, but one detail is visible: three classic round dials instead of modern digital displays, which emphasizes the analog philosophy of the car. 
Technical specifications have not yet been disclosed. It is only known that the model combines Capricorn's engineering and manufacturing expertise with Zagato's design talent, implementing an "analog configuration". All 19 examples will be assembled by Capricorn, and production will begin in the first half of 2026.
“This project marks a turning point in our 106-year history of collaborating with over 45 automotive brands to create collectible GT cars,” said Zagato President Andrea Zagato. “Zagato’s first hypercar opens up a new segment of collectible cars, designed to transcend the modern and classic categories and enhance the driving experience. Zagato’s connection to motor racing goes back over a century, dating back to the days when the Gran Turismo category brought together racing cars that could be enjoyed on ordinary roads.”
The emergence of such a car from Zagato could indicate a growing interest in cleaner, less technologically overloaded hypercars, where the emphasis is on driving emotions and unique design, rather than just maximum performance. The limited edition of 19 cars is likely to become a collector's item even before production begins, given the manufacturer's name and partnership with an experienced engineering company.
