Only 7 years left to live! A huge asteroid is hurtling toward Earth—NASA is preparing to detonate it with a nuclear weapon. Asteroid YR4, approximately 60 meters in diameter, has a 0.28% chance of hitting Earth, and a 4% chance of hitting the Moon.

In both cases, things will be tough: if YR4 hits Earth, the explosion will be 2,000 times more powerful than Hiroshima. And if it hits the Moon, it will cause a massive ejection of dust particles that will destroy all satellites, telescopes, and stations carrying astronauts—Earth will suffer in either scenario.

It's worth keeping in mind that asteroids are completely unpredictable, so the chances of a catastrophe could increase at any moment.
