I Run Away from Home as a Teenager "15 years later, I got engaged to the police officer who found me" (3 photos)

Roro Nicole ran away from her abusive parents at the age of 13. Fifteen years later, she fell in love with the police officer who was looking for her.





"When I ran away, my parents immediately called the police. The officers searched for me all night, but I hid well. They had no idea what was happening in our house," Nicole wrote on social media.

Roro was found and lived in an orphanage until she was 18. She didn't know that her future husband, Tyler, was looking for her that night.

"I didn't see him and didn't know he was involved in the search," she says.

But their paths crossed again 15 years later, when Nicole started working for the local sheriff's department.



"When I was being introduced to the team, one officer kept staring at me. Toward the end of my time at the sheriff's department, he approached me and struck up a conversation. From that moment on, we became friends and started hanging out. During one of our meetings, I told Tyler about running away from home. He looked at me intently and said, 'I've been looking for you.' Surprisingly, the apartment where I was hiding was across the street from his house."

"He was so surprised. He didn't know what to think. The whole situation was shocking for both of us."

A few months later, the couple began dating and soon became engaged. They now have three children.



"I currently work at the same police department where Tyler worked at the time," Nicole said.

The couple's story has gone viral, but some are concerned about their age difference. However, Roro ignores the criticism and maintains that a 10-year age difference is normal.
