Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW went into big minus in profit in 2025 (1 photo)
In the first half of 2025, Mercedes-Benz's profit fell by more than half, Audi's by more than a third, and BMW's by 29% compared to January-June 2024, with the Bavarian concern's profit falling for the third year in a row. This became known from the financial reports published by the "German troika". 
The financial results for the second quarter of 2025 have also been published. Thus, Mercedes-Benz Group AG's net profit fell by 3.3 times, and revenue by 10%. BMW's profit fell by 32% over the same period. For the Volkswagen Group, which owns Audi, this figure fell by more than a third (36.3%) in the second quarter.
The BMW report provides delivery volumes for the second quarter of 2025: 621,477 cars of the BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands were shipped in three months, which is 0.4% more than last year. The share of electric vehicles in total sales remained virtually unchanged and amounted to 17.9% against 17.4% a year earlier. Sales of BMW motorcycles, in turn, decreased by 8%, to 61.3 thousand units. The concern predicts that deliveries of cars and motorcycles will increase slightly in the second half of 2025.
According to the results of the second quarter, Mercedes-Benz saw a 9% drop in sales, to 547.1 thousand cars, taking into account minivans, minibuses and light trucks. At Audi, sales fell by 8.3% over three months, to 441.9 thousand cars. At the same time, Audi intends to improve its sales figures in the third quarter thanks to the new generation of the Q3 crossover and the SQ6 E-Tron.
The import duties imposed by the United States on imported goods from the EU had a negative impact on the business of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and other European automakers. However, earlier this month, Washington and Brussels reached a trade agreement, under which the duty on European cars will be reduced to 15% from August 1, 2025.
