Felix Baumgartner fell ill while flying a motorized paraglider, lost control and crashed into a hotel pool in Italy. 
The life of extreme sportsman Felix Baumgartner was tragically cut short. In 2012, he became famous after jumping from the stratosphere. The unique jump was performed as part of the Red Bull Stratos project, landing in the desert of New Mexico in the United States. The flight was watched by 8 million Internet viewers.
He set three world records, jumping from a height of over 38 km and reaching a speed of 1173 km/h.
Baumgartner recently came to Italy for a vacation. A few days ago, he posted a photo on social media of himself flying a paraglider. The message was signed: "Where are you vacationing this year?" This is the last post on his Facebook page.
The extreme sportsman made his last flight in Porto Sant'Elpidio in the Italian province of Marche. He felt unwell and lost control of the aircraft. The paraglider crashed into the pool of the local hotel Le Mimose.

A number of publications (for example, the Italian agency ANSA) claim that the parachutist was already dead at the time of the fall. It is known that during the landing Baumgartner hit a hotel employee - the girl was hospitalized with neck injuries.
The parachutist was 56 years old.
