Japanese skier Ryoyu Kobayashi set an unofficial world record in 2024 by jumping from a ski jump and flying 291 meters.
The International Ski Federation refused to accept the achievement, since the jump was not at a professional competition.
It is also interesting that none of the existing sports facilities were suitable for such a record, and it had to be created from scratch: as a result, the track was created with a starting height of 1115 meters versus the Olympic 150-200 m.
