Chinese underwater jetpack
Hong Kong startup XiaoTun has released a jetpack that turns ordinary divers into underwater superheroes.
The device looks like a backpack of the future — two jet modules on the sides, a 15,000 mAh battery, and a system of belts with a chest mount. The controls are simple: press the buttons on the waterproof remote control and fly underwater in any direction.
Each of the two modules produces a torque of 100 Nm — this is enough to accelerate to a maximum speed of 1.5 meters per second. Doesn't sound very fast? In fact, underwater it feels like a rapid flight!
The developers have provided three speed modes: leisurely (0.5 m/s), moderate (1 m/s), and maximum (1.5 m/s). Depending on the selected mode, the battery will last 90, 60, or 45 minutes, respectively. The AI system automatically maintains the course, compensating for random body movements.
The design weighs only 9.2 kilograms in air - quite manageable for most divers. The maximum diving depth is 20 meters, which covers the needs of diving. Practical details are also thought out. On the back there is a mount for a 2-liter cylinder, and the remote control screen displays the battery charge. The device charges in just 3 hours - faster than many smartphones.
The cost is estimated at $ 1,375.
