A 66-year-old man has been arrested after releasing rats outside a Sheffield mosque. It is unclear why he did this. He was labelled a racist and arrested, before being released on bail.
South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Sheffield Great Mosque on Grimesthorpe Road just after 8.15pm on Monday following reports of a man stopping outside the mosque and releasing rats from the boot of his car.
The suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated public order, has been released on bail.
