A man in London was banned from visiting a park because of his excessive love for swans (4 photos)

On June 19, a 57-year-old man was banned from visiting a central London park after he was seen hugging and petting birds, describing himself as a "swan fanatic". He was also given a notice to stay away from Kensington Gardens in Hyde Park and to have contact with several people.





Andreas Fernstedt has been found to have attacked two people after they urged him not to come into contact with swans due to the recent bird flu outbreak. One of those who responded to his behavior was run over by a 57-year-old man on a bicycle.

"Anders Fernstedt was filmed by a local resident "petting, hugging and kissing" swans in a central London park in March 2023," the article says.

John Ferguson, a volunteer, reprimanded the man, asking him to "stop disturbing" the birds due to an outbreak of bird flu. Ferguson subsequently tried to detain him, but Andreas responded by attacking him.

He was then filmed by local resident Virginia Gray: for this, Andreas "rammed" her with a bicycle. As Virginia herself admitted in court, the man called her "Hitler".

On Thursday, June 19, the 56-year-old was found guilty of assault at Southwark Crown Court.

"He was also given a restraining order banning him from Kensington Gardens in Hyde Park and from contacting Mr Ferguson and Ms Gray for two years," The Telegraph reports.



Andreas Fernstedt has emerged as a self-described Swedish "bird fanatic". The man did nothing to harm the birds, but volunteers claimed he interfered with their care and "helped spread bird flu".

The 56-year-old man took umbrage at the comments from the people he attacked, calling them "two of the worst Londoners I've ever met".





Despite his strange behaviour and attacks on people, Andreas has no known mental health issues: he apparently just enjoys spending time with the birds, but is now unable to do so due to a restraining order.
