In Finland, environmentalists held a tree hugging championship
Finnish forests, filled with the scent of pine and silence, became the arena for the most soulful competition of the year — the international tree hugging championship. The first stage of the competition is a real race, where you need to hug as many trunks as possible in a minute without losing your dignity or getting tangled in your own legs. Then comes freestyle — participants spin around the trees in an impromptu waltz and whisper compliments to them, and the especially creative ones try to persuade the tree to make a joint video. Well, and the final of the competition is pure poetry. At the end of the competition, the tree huggers, with a slight tremor in their voices, propose to them, as if asking to become companions for life. This unusual competition is a great way to remind people that strong hugs can be a very good stress reliever, even if the hugging partner is a little... wooden.
