A group of tourists spotted an albino dolphin off the northeastern coast of Taiwan. The group's guide captured the rare dolphin.
The rare specimen was filmed by the tour group's guide Lin Cheng-Liao. He admitted that this was the first time in ten years that he had seen an albino dolphin. In the video, the white specimen is swimming in a pod of dolphins of normal color. Judging by the dolphin's small size, it is still a teenager.
The Ocean Conservation Association (OCA) noted that although albino dolphins are difficult to spot near the coast, Taiwan's waters are home to them. In 2024, scientists managed to register 29 white specimens. According to the OCA, their population is only growing.
