A 1951 White 3000 COE truck was put up for auction at Mecum in the US. The truck was designed by a Ukrainian. Focus reports this.

The White 3000 COE was designed by Ukrainian Count Oleksiy Sakhnovsky. His mother was the granddaughter of the famous sugar manufacturer Artem Tereshchenko, and his father was a descendant of Mykola Gogol and Pavlo Polubotko.

After the 1917 revolution, Alexey Sakhnovsky emigrated to Europe, where he became an automotive designer. Later, the count moved to the United States. His works for Packard, Cord, Nash, and Austin were distinguished by their avant-garde, streamlined style.

Olexiy Sakhnovsky began working with White in 1935, creating original buses and streamlined trucks. The White 3000 COE was produced from 1949 to 1968.

This particular truck was tuned, with a radiator grille changed, a wider track, and a new cargo platform installed. The White 3000 COE interior was trimmed with leather and wood, and air conditioning, all-round cameras, and power windows were installed.

The truck received an 8.2-liter Chevrolet V8 with 500 hp and an automatic transmission. In addition, the suspension was borrowed from Chevrolet, and disc brakes were installed.
