A Chinese Competitor to Maybach Showed Off Its Interior (20 photos)
The future potential competitor of Maybach sedans on the Chinese market called Maextro S800 from Huawei and JAC, which first appeared in public as a prototype back in November 2024, continues to acquire details. It should go on sale at the end of May, but for now, the brand's representatives offer to look at the interior.
In the front part of the S800 cabin, attention is clearly drawn to the massive tablet of three displays under one glass in the style of the MBUX Hyperscreen from Mercedes. On the sides of it are two more screens, which display the image from the side rear-view cameras. By the way, the similarities with Mercedes-Benz do not end with the Hyperscreen alone. For example, the list includes the steering wheel design, reminiscent of the EQS line, as well as the design of the seat adjustment buttons.
Second-row passengers are offered to sit on luxurious separate ottoman chairs with heating, ventilation and massage function. A refrigerator and pull-out table are hidden in the armrest, there is a removable touch panel for adjusting the climate control and controlling a number of other functions, as well as heated and cooled cup holders, a glove compartment with fingerprint access, a projection screen, etc.
Recall that a lot is already known about the technical side of the 5.5-meter Maextro S800 thanks to data from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade. Thus, the car will be offered both in an electric version with two electric motors - 218-horsepower on the front axle and 323-horsepower on the rear, and in a hybrid version, where similar electric motors are assisted by a 156-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo engine, which acts as a generator.
