Bugatti showed the first assembled W16 Mistral hypercars worth $5 million each (17 photos + 1 video)

Bugatti unveiled the limited edition W16 Mistral hypercar back in 2022, but it has only now prepared the first production units for delivery to customers. Both roadsters are intended for customers in the United States. Completion of the entire Mistral production run will mark the end of the giant W16 engine era — the company will switch to hybrid traction.





The W16 Mistral hyperroadster is based on the Chiron platform. However, the Mistral differs from it in its original body. During the premiere, it was noted that, although the roadster looks like a derivative of the Chiron, its appearance contains many references to iconic models from both the past and modern history of Bugatti.

The Mistral received a common 16-cylinder engine with a volume of 8 liters and four turbines for all Bugattis. In this case, it is tuned to 1600 hp and 1600 Nm and is capable of accelerating the roadster to 420 km/ h.

The two finished hypercars have a contrasting finish. In the first case, the black body color is combined with a blue interior and an engine compartment lid and brake calipers made in the same color. The second car is painted in the colors of the American flag and has a basic white background with numerous red and blue accents. Bugatti traditionally does not specify how much the hypercars cost customers, but it is known that the starting price of the W16 Mistral was 5 million dollars.

A total of 99 such cars are planned to be assembled, after which the production of the W16 will be completed. The next Bugatti hypercar, called Tourbillon, will receive an engine with the same number of cylinders, but already V-shaped and combined with electric motors. The output of the new power plant is 1800 hp.
