A woman caught a neighbor's dog that fell out of a window (3 photos + 1 video)
A Yorkshire terrier named Alisinha climbed through a window and found herself trapped. Neighbour Clarissa Saraiva da Silva, who lives downstairs, saw the dog barely hanging on to the blinds. The woman didn't lose her nerve: she gave the caretaker a blanket to lay on the ground, then took a cardboard box, filled it with clothes and leaned out of the window. The video shows the dog falling, and Clarissa catching it.
A real rescue operation took place in an apartment building on the outskirts of Sao Paulo in Guarulhos on Thursday afternoon. Clarissa said she heard the screams of her neighbors and, without thinking, rushed to help.
She shared with a local TV channel: "They started calling me, and when I went to the window, I noticed a small dog. I immediately ran upstairs and started knocking on the door, but no one opened. Then I took a blanket and left it with the guard so that he could make a mattress in case the dog fell. I took the box at the last moment, thinking that if I can't avoid the fall, then at least I'll soften it."
Neighbors called the animal's owner on her mobile, but she was stuck in traffic.
"She was very scared when she heard what had happened. She couldn't contain her emotions when we handed Alisinha over to her."
Clarissa admitted: "I felt a lot of tension and a lot of relief when it was all over."
