New Bugatti hypercar will get 8 exhaust pipes worth two Mercedes-Benz S-class (4 photos)
Bugatti has not yet started assembling production units of the Tourbillon hypercar, and buyers still have time to negotiate the installation of the Equipe Pur Sang option package on their cars. The package is priced at $240,000, and its key feature will be eight exhaust pipes at once.
As far as can be judged from the configurator screenshots, the rear bumper of the hypercar will be redesigned to accommodate the new exhaust. It is not yet known whether the new exhaust will affect the power output of the power plant. Previously, Bugatti has never installed eight pipes at once on its cars, although, for example, the exclusive La Voiture Noir had six, as did the classic Type 57 SC Atlantic.
The package will also include a modified front bumper, small end caps for the active rear spoiler and a lot of nameplates with the name of the set. They will be placed on the body and embroidered in the interior. In addition to mechanical modifications, a new body color and interior trim scheme are mentioned, but they will probably be available outside of Equipe Pur Sang, given Bugatti's ability to customize cars.
For $240,000 in the US, you can buy, for example, a Porsche 911 GT3 or two Mercedes-Benz S-classes. The Tourbillon starts at $4 million, and only 250 of these hypercars will be assembled. The coupe received a new V16 in conjunction with an electric superstructure with a total output of 1,800 hp.
