S1 LM and Le Mans GTR models based on GMA T.50 coupe will be released in small quantities, which are sold out in advance

As part of the Monterey Car Week, Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA), the company of designer and engineer Gordon Murray, presented the first works of its new division Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) - the S1 LM and Le Mans GTR supercars. Both cars are built on the basis of the mid-engine GMA T.50 coupe and represent modern interpretations of the iconic McLaren F1 GTR, also designed by Murray. Both will be released in small editions, which have already been sold out in advance, and the prices are not publicly available.

The GMSV S1 LM will be built in five copies by order of a single client - a big fan of Murray's work of the nineties in general, and in particular - the F1 GTR, which took 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th places at the Le Mans race 30 years ago. A completely new carbon body was designed for the supercar, which turned out to be lower than that of the donor T.50. The exterior combines vintage and modern elements. References to the original McLaren are visible in the lighting technology, aerodynamic body kit details, including a fixed spoiler, glazing lines, air intake on the roof, and wheel design.

The interior, compared to the donor GMA T.50, now has even more carbon fiber. The steering wheel, instrument panel (the instruments themselves are about the same), and door panels have been redesigned.

The volume of the naturally aspirated V12 developed at Cosworth has been increased from 3.9 to 4.3 liters. It can still spin up to 12,100 rpm, while the power now exceeds 700 hp - in this indicator, the S1 LM fills the niche between the civilian T.50 (663 hp) and the track T.50s (730 hp). The internal combustion engine is accompanied by a custom exhaust system made of Inconel, ending with four pipes located in the center. The six-speed "mechanics" is reassembled from components from the T.50 and T.50s. The suspension geometry has been revised and new shock absorbers have been used. The first S1 LM will be ready in 2026.

GMSV The Le Mans GTR was the brainchild of renowned London car dealer Joe Macari. He asked Gordon Murray what he thought a modern Le Mans car should look like. Within a few weeks, the designer had his own vision, and the first order was placed. In the end, it was decided to build 24 units – one for each hour of the famous 24-hour marathon. The inspiration came from the “long-tail” cars of the second half of the last century, including the Matra-Simca MS660, Porsche 917 and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33.

The body with its advanced aerodynamic body kit and lighting are also new, the tracks are widened, and Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires are installed. Other modifications mentioned include a more rigid engine mount to the chassis, lightweight suspension, and a reconfigured exhaust system.

The interior has become emphatically racing, but, as GMSV claims, no less comfortable. The dashboard, most of the switches and the pedal assembly have been redesigned, new "buckets" have been installed. The first production Le Mans GTR will also appear in 2026.
