A Chinese man married a Belarusian woman after many years of "blind" dating: she is a head taller (4 photos + 1 video)
The newlyweds recently took part in a collective ceremony organised by the government to promote Chinese wedding culture.
After years of unsuccessful blind dates, a Chinese man named Tian fell in love and married a Belarusian model named Nameni, who is a head taller than him. The man is 158 cm tall, while his chosen one is 176 cm. The couple had a traditional wedding, later publishing photos and videos from the ceremony.
Tian Jun, 32, from Hunan Province, now regularly posts about his cross-cultural married life on Douyin, which has 700,000 followers.
For five years, Tian, who was single and pressured by his parents, went on numerous blind dates but never found a girl he really liked. While working as a modeling agent, he eventually met Namei, who was pursuing a career in China, and they fell in love.
"I always believed that I could find true love. That's when my wife, Namei, came along," says the happy man, who communicates with his beloved in English and Chinese.
The couple first got married in China, four years ago. Tian recalls that his beloved was only 20 years old at the time, enjoying the prime of her youth.
"I love my wife deeply, so I respected her decision not to have children," he shared.
However, the bride now seems ready to start a family and plans to conceive a child before the end of the year.
In addition, the newlyweds recently took part in a collective ceremony organized by the government to popularize Chinese wedding culture and encourage young people to fall in love and get married.
In the video, Tian and Namei wear black and red Han Dynasty wedding dresses and perform the He Jin ritual by drinking sweet wine from each other's bitter gourd cups. This symbolizes their commitment to sharing both joys and hardships. The newlyweds also cut strands of each other's hair and tied them together to cement their everlasting union.
Photos of the couple in traditional attire that highlight their striking height difference have gone viral on social media.
"Height difference and cultural differences can't stop true love. I wish this couple all the best!" one of the participants wrote.
