An 805-horsepower Octavia is presented, but it is not a Škoda (33 photos)

The Ringbrothers studio has presented what is perhaps the coolest restomod on the theme of a rare Aston Martin. The 1971 DBS was taken as a basis and completely rebuilt, equipped not only with an 805-horsepower engine, but also with a number of references to the stories about super agent James Bond and was called Octavia. The cost of the project has not been announced, but it is known that customizers will not replicate it - the coupe will remain the only one of its kind.





Well-known thanks to the Czech brand Škoda, the name of the restomod is explained by the desire of its creators to recall the thirteenth James Bond film, the 1983 film Octopussy. The covers of the new V8 do not say Aston Martin, but Aston Martini, and the dipstick handle is made in the form of a glass - a reminder of agent 007's favorite drink.

The new carbon body of the Octavia, in the design of which the creators of the restomod tried to preserve the original spirit, is combined with a custom chassis from Roadster Shop. It uses Fox coilovers and specially developed Ringbrothers new control arms. The coupe is decorated with unusual wheels from HRE, and 6-piston Brembo mechanisms are responsible for braking. As in the body design, the interior style retains the feeling of the original DBS, while the interior is complemented by a number of unusual parts printed from steel on a 3D printer. Among them are the selector handles of the gearbox and parking brake, for example. The sun visors are equipped with an auto-dimming function.

The original engine has been replaced with a modern V8 from Ford Performance, which, with a volume of 5 liters, develops 805 horsepower. This was achieved by equipping the unit with a large Harrop supercharger, an alternative control unit from Holley, modified manifolds and a number of other improvements. The engine is supplied with a manual transmission and a rear axle from Strange Engineering.
