Fragrant protest: French farmers protest again and dump manure in front of city halls
The last time something like this happened was six months ago. Then the farmers received promises from the Prime Minister, but nothing was done. The Prime Minister himself resigned.
Hundreds of tractors loaded with manure blocked roads in several regions of the country, including Paris, coloring the air with an unpleasant smell and expressing their dissatisfaction with the actions of the authorities.
Farmers are demanding more favorable conditions for agriculture and protection from unfair competition from imported goods. They criticize the government for insufficient support and are sure that Macron's policy threatens the existence of French agriculture.
"We are tired of unacceptable working conditions and endless announcements of support that are never implemented," said one of the farmers during the protest. "We do not want to live in poverty anymore and just want to earn an honest living."
