On Tuesday, Swedish police forcibly removed Greta Thunberg and her supporters who were blocking the entrance to parliament. "We have no choice but to sit here and undermine the system, our voices must be heard," said the 21-year-old activist.
On March 11, Thunberg and dozens of activists blocked the main entrances to the Swedish parliament to draw the attention of politicians to the problem of climate change.
The protesters did not spend the night near the building and returned on the morning of March 12.
Greta organized her first event in 2018. She became the face of climate activists, whose weekly protests grew into a global movement with large-scale rallies on different continents.
Last year, Thunberg tried to cause a stir in Norway and Germany, but was detained by police.
Last month, a British court cleared her of public order charges. The judge ruled that the police had no right to arrest her and other participants in the London rally.
