A man from China's Jiangxi Province lost 308,000 yuan after using a marriage agency in Guiyang.





A man fell victim to fraudsters - he lost almost all his savings due to his marriage to a woman he met through a matchmaker from a marriage agency. The newlywed wife ran away three weeks after the wedding, and is now wanted for fraud. "I paid 160,000 yuan for the bride price, 65,000 to the matchmakers and 30,000 to the marriage agency," the victim said.



The story began in November 2024, when a single man became interested in a marriage agency advertisement on social networks. Arriving in Guiyang, two weeks later he met a woman who had recently divorced. After only three days of dating, the couple officially registered their relationship, but the family idyll lasted less than a month.

During a medical examination related to a possible pregnancy, it turned out that the woman suffered from venereal diseases and had a long-standing drug addiction. After four escapes from home, the young wife finally disappeared from the life of her chosen one. Soon after, she was arrested for a similar fraud - she managed to receive a new advance from another groom. The deceived husband contacted the police and told the media about the fraudulent scheme.



Later, the owner of the agency, Ying Guohong, returned 30 thousand yuan to the man, claiming that this was the standard agency fee, and the rest of the money was paid to private matchmakers in violation of the contract. The police are continuing to investigate the case.

According to Guohong, the agency's activities have now been completely stopped due to the scandal, and he himself is ready to compensate for the damage in full only by a court decision. At the same time, the police are establishing the involvement of other members of the criminal group who could have been involved in multiple marriage scams.
