The entrepreneur arrived at the presentation of the model in a Robotaxi. According to him, the new type of transport should be many times cheaper and safer than conventional piloted transport due to a longer time on the move and a significant reduction in maintenance costs. 
The billionaire compared taxis to elevators: once an operator was needed to operate them, but now everyone is accustomed to elevators on "autopilot". Tesla has assembled at least 50 Robotaxi units and plans to launch mass production no later than 2027. The price of one model for entrepreneurs will be less than 30 thousand dollars.
In addition to the taxi, Musk showed a "robovan" for 20 people and a humanoid robot Optimus at the event. During the development of the latter, Tesla took into account the experience of creating driverless cars. According to Musk, the robot will be able to perform the tasks of a personal teacher, waiter, go shopping and more.
