A high-speed train capable of accelerating to 1,000 was successfully tested in China km/h (3 photos)
During the tests of the magnetic levitation train, conducted in a 2-kilometer pipeline with low vacuum, it was confirmed that the train remains stable and safe when braking.
The tests were conducted in the city of Datong. A full-size pilot line was built there. The train was tested in a special pipe under low vacuum conditions. Its length reaches 2 km. According to the test results, the driver can already fully control the train. It also has a stable suspension, thanks to which it is stable while moving. And it was able to stop safely without any problems. Experts emphasized that all systems also worked normally.
It is noted that the transport was accelerated to maximum speed. The project provides for acceleration to 1000 km/h, but it is not specified whether the train has actually been able to accelerate to such a value. Earlier, in February 2024, the train reached a record speed in a vacuum tube. It managed to accelerate to 623 km/h.
As the authors of the project note, the magnetic levitation train is designed for fast travel between two cities. For example, such a route can be built between Beijing and Shanghai. The entire journey will take only an hour and a half. By car, you can travel from one city to another in 12 hours. The completion of new tests is called an important step towards the implementation of the project.
