According to a 90-year-old grandmother from Sanyang, she picked up this piece of iron while working in the fields more than 20 years ago. Not knowing what it was, she took it home and used it as a hammer to crack peppercorns, crack walnuts, and drive nails. 
The unusual household tool was discovered by workers who came to demolish her old house. They called the police and a grenade disposal squad, everything was resolved without incident. 
The hand grenade was identified as a Type 67, which was produced after World War II.
