Cruise ship caught in a storm in Antarctica (2 photos + 2 videos)
The cruise ship Atlas World Voyager was crossing the Drake Passage, where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans meet between South America and Antarctica, when it was struck by a devastating storm.
One of the tourists at the very beginning of December last year captured the moment when waves, the height of which reached 30 meters, hit the ship. Tables, chairs, lounge chairs and other items were seen floating on the flooded deck.
According to the crew members, this was the most difficult passage in the entire history of the ship, designed to pass through the most dangerous places in the world.
Later, the Norwegian cruise ship MS Maud, which was sailing through the waters of the North Sea, found itself in the path of a powerful wave that hit the ship, as a result of which the vessel lost navigation and was later towed to the shores of Germany.
Dramatic footage shows the exact moment the rogue wave hit.
