A rare Lamborghini Jalpa will be put up for auction (14 photos + 1 video)
The auction for the unique Lamborghini Jalpa in a targa body starts tomorrow. This two-door masterpiece was created by Italian craftsmen in the early 1980s as a competitor to the famous Porsche 911 and Ferrari models. The Jalpa was produced from 1981 to 1988, with a total of 410 cars produced. The copy that will be put up for auction is in excellent condition and has minimal mileage.
The Lamborghini Jalpa was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1981. Despite the design, made in the style of the legendary Countach, the two-door failed to attract all the attention of visitors. The reason for this was the prototype of the Lamborghini LM001 SUV, which the Italian brand showed as part of the same event.
The sports car received a removable hard roof, independent suspension, and disc brakes. The Jalpa is powered by a 3.5-liter aluminum V8, which is placed at the rear of the car. The engine output was 255 horsepower. The unit was equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.
Over seven years of production, the Italian manufacturer produced only 410 copies of the Jalpa. The presented supercar with a red body and black leather interior, as well as an Alpine audio system and standard air conditioning is in excellent condition. During its history, the sports car has traveled only 30 thousand kilometers.
