Cruise ship crashed into a pier in Turkey (3 photos + 1 video)
A 200-meter cruise ship crashed into a concrete pier in the Turkish port of Kusadasi after trying to brake. The crew miscalculated the speed and approached the pier too quickly, resulting in a collision.
The cruise ship Celestyal Journey arrived at the port of the Turkish resort town of Kusadasi - and due to a crew error, it crashed into a concrete pier. The ship's crew lowered the anchor in an attempt to slow the approach, but despite their efforts, a collision occurred.
Fortunately, both the ship and the pier suffered only minimal damage as a result of the collision. No harm done. After the liner was moored, the passengers calmly disembarked and spent the whole day in the Turkish resort city. Kusadasi has eight berths for large ships and is the most popular cruise port in Turkey.
The Celestyal Journey has 630 cabins, including 149 with balconies, and offers guests seven exclusive restaurants, as well as eight bars and lounge areas. The ship is currently operating seven-day cruises in the Aegean Sea until the end of October 2024.
