Drones are a great help to the police. For example, in the city of Strood (UK), a drone was used to detect an intruder suspected of stealing a car. Pursued by the police, he managed to climb onto the roof and hide there. But not for long! 
It happened like this: at two o'clock in the morning, patrol officers noticed a car with false license plates. On their orders, the car did not stop, they began to pursue it in Strood (Kent), and then found it abandoned five kilometers from the house in Chatham.
There were two men in the car, both fled the scene and hid from the police. Police deployed a drone and found one of the suspects, an 18-year-old boy, lying on the roof of a house. He was removed from the roof by the Fire and Rescue Service and he was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.

The second thief was found by a police dog. He was hiding in someone's garden eight kilometers from Strood in Gillingham. Both were taken into custody, charged and then released on bail pending further investigation.
