Humanoid robots will assemble BMW cars (2 photos + 1 video)

Last year's massive, and even long-term strike of US auto workers under the auspices of industry trade unions only strengthened industrialists in the idea that people should be gradually abandoned, replacing them with robots. After all, the latter have only advantages: they don’t have to pay wages, they work around the clock, they don’t go on strike or go on maternity leave, and in case of downtime or breakdown they will get by without compensation.





The only negative is the initially high cost. But it’s better to fork out money once, but then plan your business calmly. Therefore, BMW’s decision to closely cooperate with the Californian startup Figure, which is engaged in the creation and production of anthropomorphic cybernetic organisms, fits perfectly into the inhuman development strategy.



The Figure 01 robot, with a height of 1.7 meters and its own weight of 60 kg, is capable of lifting objects weighing up to 20 kg. The battery charge is enough for 5 hours of autonomous operation. The robot is capable of moving independently at a speed of 1.2 meters per second and performing both monotonously heavy and rather delicate work, including working with equipment that requires manual control. The key difference between Figure 01 and most similar robots is the artificial intelligence algorithms that control it, which allow the machine to learn and improve its capabilities over time.
