The "Style Not Size" project was launched by two friends - Dominican plus-size model Denise Mercedes and designer Maria Castellanos. Girls take photos and videos showing how the same clothes look on different body types.
“Our project resonated with many women and men who feel “unfit” for the fashion industry. We even managed to change the approach of some famous brands. Our project hashtag spread across all social networks, giving an opportunity to speak out not only to Denise and me, but also to many others "says one of the project participants, Maria Castellanos (pictured on the right).

The girls launched the project and began publishing joint videos in 2020. After seeing an overwhelmingly positive response, they continued to generate ideas for new videos by trying on different outfits. They are glad that they have been able to influence stereotypes and beauty standards for several years now. According to Maria, the success of the project helps them develop individually. They plan to continue working in their respective fields while promoting the #stylenotsize movement.

The most popular videos of the project have received more than 37 million views. The girls' main message is that people dress the way they like, love their bodies and don't compare themselves to others.
“The fact that we can inspire so many women to feel confident and be themselves is inspiring to keep going,” says Denise Mercedes.
