When this couple got married in the mid-spring of 1990, few believed in the sincerity of feelings, at least on the part of the groom. And the disbelievers can be understood, because the difference in height between the spouses was almost a meter. 
Nathalie Lucius was 24 years old when she became the wife of 22-year-old Fabien Pretoux. Everything would be fine, but during the ceremony in the church of Grenoble (France), the groom held his betrothed in his arms. And not from an excess of feelings, but because it was simply hard for her to stand. After all, the wife of an attractive guy with a height of 1.88 was a girl who barely reached 94 centimeters. 
Why was all this started? To attract attention? But the newlyweds were ordinary people, and the attention of the press and public repelled them more than attracted them.
For what reasons such a girl was born in the Lucius family is unknown, but with a high degree of probability we are talking about achondroplasia (dwarfism). The parents were ordinary people of average height. But my daughter remained at the level of a three-year-old baby. 
The couple agreed to give an interview only almost 15 years after the wedding. When the hype around their couple had long died down and been forgotten. Natalie said that the acquaintance was facilitated by friends who organized a then fashionable blind date. Moreover, the girl wanted to meet an ordinary guy, not a midget or a dwarf.
Of course, Fabien was surprised at the sight of the baby, but he himself initiated the next date, which she did not refuse. 
After the wedding, the newlyweds settled in the suburbs of Grenoble, where Pretout had a house. The husband equipped an accessible environment for his miniature wife with his own hands. I installed an additional sink and stove at Natalie’s height level, and ordered two-tier furniture. 
On walks, the woman used an electric wheelchair, so as not to burden her husband with her helplessness, and to be on an equal footing with him.
Quite often, people with defects like Natalie’s turn out to be infertile. But the couple had a completely healthy daughter, Amelie. 
After the 2004 interview, the couple again stopped contacting the press. Fabien died in 2011 at the age of 42. Two years later, Natalie passed away. Their daughter is of normal height. Amelie graduated from university and works in a notary office. In memory of the parents, there was a record recorded in the Guinness Book of Records - the largest difference in height between spouses. 
During that interview, Fabien was unable to give a direct answer to the journalist’s question about the feelings he felt after meeting. Was your first instinct compassion? Or interest, sympathy, pity, curiosity? But regardless of this, the couple lived a quiet, happy life, which is not given to everyone who is healthy, tall and beautiful.
