A tourist survived the eruption of Mount Merapi and showed her burned face (3 photos + 3 videos)

On December 1, 19-year-old Zhafira Zahrim Febrina and other tourists began climbing Mount Merapi in the Indonesian province of West Sumatra when the volcano woke up and released a fountain of hot ash. 
A group of 75 people were caught off guard by the activity of the Indonesian volcano Merapi. Columns of thick ash shot up into the air to a height of about 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) - the height of the volcano itself is 2,891 m. Afterwards, the ash began to settle, scattering several kilometers around the surrounding area.
Local residents of the villages closest to the mountain managed to film the volcanic eruption in real time.
But the tourists, who were very close to the mountain at that moment, were less fortunate. A group of 75 people were covered in ash, and 13 people were killed, according to BBC News. 10 are still considered missing. Rescuers have not yet found them. The rest were evacuated. Many received severe burns - like this girl. She filmed herself before rescuers found her.

According to media reports, Zhafira and her friends managed to go down. The girl was found at the foot of the volcano, covered with ash. She was rushed to the hospital with burns.
The rescue operation, in which 200 people took part, has so far been suspended due to the activity of the volcano, and the missing, as local residents believe, are unlikely to be found alive.
