“We must be heard!”: blogger talks about life in Greenland (9 photos + 2 videos)

Greenland is the largest ice island on our planet. The island is quite isolated and the rest of the world is not particularly interested in it. Some believe that no one lives there at all. But a local blogger named Kupanuk refutes this: on her channel she shows and tells a lot of interesting things about Greenland, and is becoming more and more popular all over the world.

Many people associate Greenland with isolation and cold - this is partly true, but a blogger named Kupanuk reveals different sides of the world's largest ice island. Kupanuk is originally from Qaqortoq, located in the south of Greenland, and now lives in Nuuk, the Greenlandic capital, whose population does not exceed 20 thousand people. She is the mother of four children and the only mining engineer on the island. Kupanuk runs a YouTube channel where he talks about the amazing life on the island and touches on topics ranging from how hot summers can be to how much food costs.

The blogger became the “ambassador” of Greenland for the rest of the world. She also shares various interesting facts about the country, such as the fact that residents of Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands have the same Danish citizenship, and that global warming has made the weather in Greenland extremely unpredictable.

"Some people don't even know that anyone lives in Greenland. But we want our voice to be heard. We were a Danish colony, and we felt under pressure for a long time. The island industrialized so quickly that it was difficult to preserve our culture. Therefore, it is important to talk about the culture of Greenland and the island as a whole,” Kupanuk said.

According to the blogger, she has traveled a lot around the world, but considers Greenland the best place to live - with incredibly beautiful nature. And nature in Greenland is valued, as is, for example, hunting. In addition, Kupanuk has become very popular on the island:

"In real life, I've become very popular in Greenland. It's getting a little boring at the moment. Every time I go out, people recognize me and come up to me. Now there's a lot of attention and it gets awkward," says Kupanuk.

Here Kupanuk shows the national costumes of the Greenlanders:
