Scientists have suggested that laziness may be a sign of high intelligence. The study found that people with high IQs are less physically active. That is, they are more often engaged in mental activity - and therefore pay less attention to physical exercise.





A study conducted by Florida Gulf Coast University found that people with high IQs are less physically active. Due to the fact that they are more engaged in mental activity, their body needs rest more often. During the study, subjects were divided into two groups - “thinkers” and non-thinkers, depending on their IQ level. Each participant's activity was monitored using fitness trackers. As a result, the trackers showed that “thinkers” were less active on weekdays. On the weekend they were a little more active, but the difference was insignificant.



It is believed that this is due to the fact that “thinkers” devote more time to intellectual activity - they have no energy left for external activity. According to scientists, thinking people can balance both mental activity and activity if they engage in greater awareness. By being aware of their tendencies, they can consciously set aside time during the day to be active. Active people who tend to live “in the body” and not in the head, on the contrary, need to constantly stimulate themselves with external activities.
