Flying frogs disguise themselves as feces to avoid being eaten by predators

17 October 2023

A study conducted by the University of Vienna and Schönbrunn Zoo found that the offspring of Wallace's flying frog (Rhacophorus nigropalmatus), also known as the gliding frog, camouflage themselves with excrement to stay away from predators.

These amazing animals are known for jumping from one branch to another, an ability achieved by spreading out their four webbed limbs.

In addition, the membranes between the toes and loose flaps of skin on the sides trap air when falling, helping frogs to overcome distances of over 15 meters.
