Marseille fans attacked a Lyon bus on the way to the Vélodrome stadium. There were athletes and coaching staff in the cabin. A large stone broke the glass of the bus, resulting in injuries to several bus passengers.



Head coach Fabio Grosso had his face cut by glass shards and he arrived at the stadium bleeding. He needed medical help and a bandage. A piece of glass also hit assistant coach Raffaele Longo in the eye. In addition, several other Lyon players were injured.



As a result, Ligue 1 decided to cancel the match between Marseille and Lyon. Match referee Francois Letexier said that a report on the commission's decision at the crisis meeting, which took place immediately after the incident, would be submitted to the competent authorities.
